Tank arrived today and was promptly sent back to the manufacturer. Side glass panel was installed crooked and there was also a chip in the tank. Not what I was expecting as the workmanship of other tanks by the same company have been great. I'm hoping I get a properly built tank next weekend.

I did accept the stand and canopy. I need a 3rd metal halide which is on order now. So I will end up with 3x250 MH, should be pretty bright

Pics next weekend as I'm tired and take off tomorrow for some business meetings the remainder of the week. I've also consumed far too much sailor jerry's rum so whatever I took a picture of tonight probably wouldn't turn out very well

Thanks -Hopefully it will be. :) After everything is setup and running and livestock transferred over I'm getting a calcium reactor set up, most likely an Octopus or Geo.

Thats probably one thing Ill be staying away from for quite some time... After heavy thought and research on it I opted out of the ca rx route.

I do have a question.... why 18" on your canopy??? why not 12"?

Because the LumenMax Elite's are 5.5 inches. That leaves 12.5 off the water's surface which provides the best distance from the water's surface for these pendants. A friend of mine locally has 3x250 halides on a 30" deep Deep Sea 185 and grows SPS like none other, gorgeous tank and his halides are higher off the water than mine, closer to 18" - he's been in the hobby 30 years, if you saw his tank your jaw would be on the floor.

    cool....

I plan on getting the same pendants the lumen max 3's. was probably gonna go 12" height on the canopy. but may have to go tup to 15" or even 18" now

I also dont wanna have the canopy look like a skyscraper above the tank.

Wheres some pics on the stand and canopy?

I have some hardcore venting to do on the canopy. Installing fans, vent holes, etc.

Sorry for the crappy pics. The canopy looks pretty good when it's on top of the tank - it's tall, but easy to work under. There will be a 3rd lumenmax elite between those 2 in the canopy.

Thx man - the stand isn't quite that bright. It's actually a dark cherry color. Looks pretty cool I think. :)

Wow!! Beautiful stand. Very fancy! :) Sorry about the tank being messed up. This needs to hurry up, I'm getting anxious! ;)
