    I believe sand is a bad idea in the fuge/sump because that's where all the ditritus will settle out at and you want to be able to siphon it out....

    I use pickling lime from Walmart. Hardness Plus (cal) and soda ash from Leslie pool supply for dosing. Much much cheaper than brs....

    Yeah I did have to change the gate valve after the change so maybe it is just restricted...? My understanding is that if I go with a larger airline...

    No salt creep. I went ahead and cleaned the pump out and that didn't even make a difference.... Still really strange that it doesn't seem to be...
