    If you're not doing SPS, there's no need for crazy flow through the sump. You could easily use a Mag 7 (about $80 on marinedepot.com) that has 400gph...

    I'd tell them to stuff it for $12/lb painted rock. It will eventually get coralline on the rock and glass. Just takes time.
