    Pull rocks and substrate out, wipe it down with bleach... let air dry. Rub it down with vinegar... let it dry. For the rocks, it's a bit more labor...

    Is it safe to clean filter socks in washer machine

    I used to soak them in RO/DI with bleach then rinse. I just recently moved to washing them on delicate with bleach then air dry. It works very well.
