well it depends... IMO if you want a 4" DSB i would use 2 inches of regualr white sugar fine sand and then put 2" of the agra-alive on top of that as...
yes i agree, from what i understand the nirite will eventually eat up the amonia, then the nitrate will eventually eat up the nitrate and then...

everything he has said sounds correct. the only thing i worry about is the damsels as they will most liley survive but it is unnessicary to use them...
