    I agree it's the titration test that are the problem. The caps don't fit so snugly so when you shake the tubes to mix some of the water come out...

    The last time I did test the nitrate was dropping but I since put a new rock so that will no doubt cause a minor cycle. Here's a new pic of the tank...
