Up until recently, I was using a cheapo no-name refractometer I got off of ebay for about $25. It was cheap, but worked for my purposes. Anyway,...
Not necessarily. He could have hitch-hiked in on another specimen or some live rock and just moved onto the coral at the distributor/LFS/etc.
Keep 'em, IMO. There are certain variations of asterina that will eat corals, but most just eat film algae or coralline. Unless you see them...
It can be. But the fact that its got a firm hold on the rock, isn't gaping and is regaining color are all excellent signs of a recovery, IMO.
I'm going to stick with either sebae...or perhaps a small bleached haddoni. Other than that, I don't know.
I was going to say it may be a sebae, but I'm posting from my phone and can't see the pic that well.
Lol. You make a valid point. That's nuts! I guess to an enthusiast it might be worth but, I mean, how advanced can a round thing on a string be?

Well that's cool. I've never actually seen one in person until now. I suppose he can stay for now, since he doesn't seem to be causing any harm....
I got this from the Happy Coral browned out acro grab bag the other day. Was looking at it today and noticed some movement. The little guy looks like...
Chalice wins, hand down.
Preferably with fire. Is it possible to remove the rock it's on? Boiling water in a turkey baster does the trick pretty well while killing any...
I think we've all learned a valuable lesson here. When it doubt, always blame the wife.
I have a "Citrus" clown goby (no idea if that's what they're actually called, that's just what it was labeled at my LFS) that hasn't touched the Acro...
It looks like the stuff I got in my 1 penny macro algae from Reef Cleaners a while back. Unfortuntely, mine just kind of went away. Never did...
