    Personally, I'd go with 1" if I were you. I wouldn't want to run the chance of clogging due to critters getting in the plumbing.

    Haha,CA is quite a long ways from here... Pro-tip: Buy slotted wiring duct. Screw in place. Arrange cables as needed. Snap on cover. Profit.

    You should be fine doing a splice then. Personally I would include a drip loop after the splice and would position it in a place away from moisture....

    Assuming you have an extra $4700 lying around, the Vertex Illumina SR260 6' fixture would be hard to beat. Or two 2' fixtures at $1700 a pop.
