Reef the only think.. i will use 10k as they have much more par then 12k.. also daylight has much more but you will loose the colour of the coral.....

i'm using 2x250W+1x400W on a 18" tank tall and the bulbs are at 6 inch to the water and corals grows so fast that before the "boiled" i could make...
some more info about the project.. seems my wife lend me 70 cm of space to fit anykind of skimmer and ca-reactor i want ;D here you can see how...
never did and will never do.. as if the coral has a trouble (stress etc..) you will kill the coral and the "enemy" you think to kill may survive.....

surely.. i did it 5 years ago for my 1 liter nano ::) just hard to find here in italy the HighOutput leds :angry:
they should use Philips leds.. so philips certify the lasting time.. not PFO.. and philips spoken about 50.000 hours on their luxeons HO leds.....
leds need to be replaced.. but every 11 years... not 12 months.. just 132 months.. as they will loose only 30% of intensity after it.. like MH...

i did many job with protection glass for HQI/MH lamps.. what kind of bulb are you using ? if it's a dual ended bulb you need a 5mm tempered...
