When you cure LR, you want to pick off any dead or dying organisms. You want to do it in a separate tank because of the excessive amounts of ammonia...
They are very delicate, hence "Brittle" star. Most of the time their legs break off when they are threatened. What else do you have in your tank?
Curing LR usually takes about a month. Keep the lights off to prevent algae blooms.
