A few current pics...
Here's a pic of it before all the plumbing was setup and water was added to the tank.
The rhizopodia looks very similar to what I have but much bigger in that pic.
Looking for pics of foraminiferan online, not really finding anything that looks like what I have unless they don't look the same when they are small.
Total volume is 60 gallons, when I got it I thought it would be more than big enough for anything I could throw at it....not so happy with the design...
Ok, these are the clearest I could get out of all my tries. This growth is really hard like a rock and spiny.
I have a few of these growing on some of my live rock, they kinda look like a flowery coral type growth, this is the biggest one I found so far. Pics...
I was actually contemplating trying to do that to get it to fit, I'm just worried that if I order it and it doesn't work Im going to have a hard time...
Does anyone have any experience with the Reef Octopus NWB-200? From what I have read it is rated for up to 250 gal, I'm wondering if this will be...
Did you guys ever get your skimmers up an running? If so how do you like them?
I was thinking the same thing, the 180 is only rated for up to 200 gal but the 240 is rated for up to 350 gal. I may have to go with the 240 :)
I think this confirms what I had already planned on doing, thanks for all the replies everyone... Now I just have to decide on which skimmer to get...
Would like to eventually but that doesn't fit the current budget unfortunately, spent much more setting up this tank than I anticipated.
I have recently set up a new FOWLR tank, 135gal DT with 60gal Sump built-in overflow and closed loop system. I only plan on keeping agressive fish...
Does anyone have any experience using the stand pipe design that are used in the marineland corner-flo tanks? Seems very similar to the durso setup.
Thanks for the info horkn! Those both look like really good designs. How do you like durso? Does it stay pretty quiet?
I am currently running a little giant 4-MDQX-SC, I was told this is what was being used on the tank before I purchased it so I figure it would be...
I could give that a shot. I thought I was done with the plumping... :o
Here are pics of the pipe in the overflow along with a pic of the tubing going down in to the sump, these pics are with the return pump turned off....
BTW the overflow bulkhead and hose are both 1 1/2 ", the overflow is being fed by a 2 ft long pvc pipe with 4 holes drilled about 2 " from the top.
