    so are purple lobsters reef safe? I saw one at Petco and it was really pretty. I wanted it but I figured it wasn't reef safe. what does it eat....

    Yes im sure. Sunlight supply Tek lights do not come with any type of tank mount or splash guard. You have to purcahse those seperate. Reefgeek sells...

    Do they come with any kind of warranty? I just can't justify spending the extra for the Tek fixture when I can get this one for about $200 cheaper.

    I don't have a canopy so DIY really isn't an option. i will proboly go with Tek but I didnt want to spend that much unless it was just a LOT better...

    It's a 48" in T5 fixture from fishneedit. yea I know its a crappy light fixture but it was working great for me, until I change a bulb.

    Ok, I was just wondering because when I used one of these bulbs in my regular ballast, it blew my ballast, hence why I have to buy a new light...

    Ok will the V-HO work for a normal HO system like Teks or does it need ice cap ballast that overdrive the VHO bulbs?
