    I like the sand, i do like barebottom but your always missing something and then you add sand and thats it pulls it all together imo

    Ill have to do some measuring but, i know the pump is lower on the tube then id just run pvc straight to the skimmer no elbows the skimmer right now...

    I have them, and LOVE them, i have them 6" off my water, 2 should be ok but 3 would probably be better depending on what your planning on keeping...
