I have read that no matter how high they seem to send out 6" sweepers but in lower flow the sweepers can get to 12" or longer.
I would add siphon break holes closer to the water surface. I have found 3/16" holes seem to work best. Make sure and add two holes opposite each...

REd Sea kits seem to give bad readings sooner than most or just read bad period, I am not sure which. I would suggest using Seachem or Salifert kits...
