try putting rotifers or equivalent in your tank to temp the polyps out :)
I'd be tempted to say get a refuge. Altho that being said it does depend on what the nitrates actually are and what the bioload is.
Hey why dont you start a tank thread and show us pics etc. A pic each month of the same coral would be cool.
Thing is with nitrates, unless you have some form of denitrafication, they will always build up. Sounds like you have a normal functioning tank to me.
Can you over skim? Surely over skimming is better then under - and to buy something that is far greater then your need surely would only last you...
