Are you using tap water by any chance? You want to get your phosphates down to at least 0.03 or lower. Not only does phosphates encourage algae...
Your lighting may have a direct effect on corals compared to if they have weaker lighting at the lfs, i bought a flowerpot at my lfs size of a tennis...
