You will need to test alk.,mag., and calcium to have any chance at keeping sps.
I would say the Nitrates are probably the problem but please answer Mel's question first as well as your Magnesium and Calcium level.Flow????

The problem with using a blob of something is you put in too much and you stall the cycle. IME it is much better to add a small amount of fish food...
