I kinda like the look of sand, and I also like the ability to move clams that I put down, a giant squamosa on the bottom of your tank-permanently,...
Those blue ribbon eels fade in color over the years, anthiases just keep getting better. Check out red bar anthias, they are the best ones IMO
That must be a typo, I need to update those slideshows and descriptions. It is made by us in the USA, we can add violet LEDs as well, and it comes...
I usually do rows, and put the reds next to the royal blues to get rid of the disc ball effect. Squares, stars, or clusters also work well, with a...
It makes no difference, the rule applies mostly to colors. For every 24 inches, 18 cool white XT-Es, and 18 royal blue XT-Es, or about double that...
The sunrise/sunset function is the only thing I use controllers for, weather, especially thunderstorms, is a waste of money, as it will do nothing...
I think around $200-$300, check our Rapid LED or Reef LED Lights for DIY kits. I have no intention of turning this thread into an ad for our...
We used to sell plankton. It is enough to make a little bit back for your tank, just grow it thick, and remember, it will last a while in the fridge...

Those are the issue! What current did you run them at?
Step by step is hard, there are SO many things that you can do. Rapid LEDs, or Reef LED lights, makes DIY pretty easy IMO, so I would use them.
Steve, I agree with you 100%. There is no one way to keep a reef tank
Thanks Scott, someone had to do it, right? ;D I am seeing a lot of nice LED tanks already!
I said I would start a place to debate LED lighting, metal halide, T-5, etc., and what you think is best. Please keep this civil, state the facts,...
C'mon, let's not turn this one into a debate too. Ask me an LED question, and I will be happy to help. Start a thread for debate, and I will give you...
LOL, LEDs are effective, that is beyond proven.
It is a DIY, unless you could find a fixture like that already built. I would run your lights about 12 hours a day, also reds, greens, and violets...
I would do 18 LEDs, 6 cree XT-E 450nm royal blues, 6 cree XT-E or XP-G 7500k cool white, 2 reds, 1 green, and 3 violets. Keep the XT-E on seperate...
