    A timer cost about $5, so a constant light cycle is a must IMO, as fish don't like the confusion.

    Brown nasty algae

    Yup, cyano. Dose 1ml of hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons daily, that will help a little. Like said above, us RODI water, gfo, and reduce feedings.

    It does pretty well over a 40B, you can keep sps, or pretty much whatever you want, in the middle 30" or so, and some low light sps, and lps/softies...
