    I prefer the "T" at the top, should reduce flow a bit. In most cases you'll want to slow down your return flow to maximize skimmer/fuge contact time...

    Not really in the lower end price range. The Bubble Magus uses the same pump as the SWC cones, RO uses extremely cheap OTP pumps that are notorious...

    I honestly don't know all the troubles. I have had mine for ~ 1 month now with no problems, it starts/restarts fine, is quiet, and works quite well...
