    After 3 months still some ammonia. What gives ?

    Do a 50 percent water change, how do you have ammonia when you have nitrates? btw it might take a year for a tank to fully cycle.

    Yellow tang in a 55 is per min if the tank is 4ft long if you do your rockwork right. I would do 1 yellow tang, 2 clowns and goby.

    1 fish per 5g is old. 12" blue tang in a 31? that's asking for something to die. You can keep a goby in a 2g. But I wouldn't do it.

    Your 31 is already overstocked. I would sell the tangs and either keep the 2 nemo or the clarkii clown. Clowns will fight in that space.
