I see a shimmer sometimes with metal halides.
imo its a ticking time bomb that'll make u end up with tons of nitrates
less then .5 nitrates for SPS? thats insane; they should be able to have at least 2-3 ppm for nitrates, or si I've heard and read.
but i'll still have regular nitrate readings i assume. I just want to use chaeto, LR, and LS to help with nitrates. Basically i just want it to work...

what kind of lights are they again? if there just plain fluorescent and you're gonna keep corals then you cant use those. either LEDs, T5's, or metal...
