was your product kalk also? or just a normal Ca salt suppliment? kalk can do this: Ca(OH)2 (aq) + CO2 (g) → CaCO3 (s) + H2O (l) where Ca(OH)2 (aq)...

IME, alk is usually variable based on things like: type of dosing, oxygen in tank, ca reactor, kalk. But the [Mg] determines what the [Ca] is... Ca...
from your first post I assume your shooting for ca 450ppm? if thats the case then i would take mg up to 1395ppm and see if things level off then :)

It's all about flow and lighting. If you have enough of both then you will be okay. One other factor is the level of zooxanthellae in your water...

An update: The growth on this is actually quite suprising! I can now see a small calcium projection with polyps on it. There are about 25-30 polyps...
