Tangs are notorious for getting ich. Make sure they are well fed and have good water quality and are under as little stress as possible. Good luck.

It sounds as though the ballast has burned out, the part you opened up. I would look into replacing the ballast. Not an electrician so not sure...

Hard to tell, but it is most likely an acro crab and they are good for the acro they are in. I would replace it and keep track to see what it does.

Ideally yes. I have bought some favias where the polyp was cut and it survived so I wouldn't stress too much if you do cut a polyp.
