no prob and it could take longer or less then a couple months it just depends but it will go faster if you change the water alot also if you soak...

I put mine in the back of the toilets for like 3 months I think I heard somewhere you can use baking soda to speed it up but im not sure
oh I can see why I made mine in the garage think I might make like a ton more cause its getting warm enough for it to dry good again

yes it should be fine and yes you can let them air dry before soaking you can also put them in the oven
sounds goods kind of alot of cement though. it will look really good once you soak it and the rock salt dissolves

what he recommended inst gravel but I guess for plants with deep roots gravel is better

heres what i use: CaribSea Aquarium Sand - Décor - Fish - PetSmart rinse it really good though
got mine at petsmart petco would prob have it though
defiantly recommend sand over gravel though I have sand in my 10gal and so wish i used it in my other fw it just makes planting so much easier
