I would think you could treat it like bioballs. just clean it with a toothbrush in some old tank saltwater every couple months if it gets nasty...
yea but try to keep the fish to a min. until you get all your rock installed. IMHO
you'll be fine adding 90% base rock. just put some in every week, shouldnt case any mini cycles with base rock.
