Looks great!
I wouldn't do a water change. The stirring of the sandbed started a cycle. Water changes are only going to prolong the cycle. Just let the tank catch...
Very well said. Without experimentation or trying anything different, we would all be stuck with a stale hobby ;)
Just so you know, you are probably not going to be able to keep a pair of clowns in that small of a tank.
Your tank is a 75 right? I would look in to TEK's 6X or 8X54W unit, that would be a nice lighting system for that tank. Run UVL bulbs
Big difference. 200 watts of T5's will be much more powerful than 200W of PC's.
Sand. Just keep the clowns in a regular reef/fish only tank. Move the eggs out to a specifically set-up breeder tank after they are laid.
Wait until you can afford T5's or halides. If your going to spend money upgrading, don't do it with PC's. They are slowly being phased out of the...
More like twice that size ;) Those things get huge. The first time I saw one near 2 feet I about hit the floor
Probably would have been better in the classifieds or RARS boards?
At that size, might as well go for the bigger one, but it's really up to you. I agree with above poster's, T5's are not going to cut it with that...
Also, I should add, you need to make sure from your friend that copper and medications were never used in that tank.
Your going to need powerheads as well. And full testing supplies. For a reef those lights aren't going to cut it. I would look into at least a 4...
As screwtape said, you can drill a siphon break. Also, here are your check valves: Plumbing Parts > Saltwater Aquarium Supplies Check Valves
Green Star Polyps
You could also go to glasscages.com and have them custom build you something
Zero Edge
What are we going for? Reef? Fish only?
What a bad way to dig up a old thread. Roger was telling me about this yesterday, I had no idea you two even had a thread till today. Best of luck...
Awesome bulbs, you will love them. Just read through the whole thread, you got yourself an awesome tank Iraf. More pics? ;)
