Oh, I see what you are asking...no, I do not think your sea slug will obtain the side shoots like you see in the nudibranch in my link.
Appendages will probably grow with age, although looking at it again, I don't think you have the same thing I linked to.

JJ, there's really no way to tell for sure. You seem to have about an equal amount of rock with or without coral, so I'd say it's split about 50/50....
I think the reason vendors use the PVC trick is because they can just move the PVC. But once the anemone is removed from thee PVC it will still move...
