    Depends on how many batches and how large your tank is. Mine is 150. It would take forever to premix that many batches.

    If you do add the salt last, and don't want to premix...Take your time and sprinkle it in lightly, a little at a time. Most likely some will settle...

    If they are not outdated, and you follow the instructions to a tee. They are fairly accurate.

    Mine are 11 inches off the water, and let me tell you, that center support piece of glass in the middle of my tank gets REAL hot...so hot that water...

    I would not lower the fixture anymore than 8 inches, as you will have splash issues and will heat the water more. Your break in and times sound great...

    3reef hits the gas.

    Only problem I have seen is when you hit the TOP button, sometimes it wont refresh when you hit home. have to log out and back in....other than that...
