    Sand is probably the cheapest thing in my tank aside from the food I buy. Don't want to skimp on something so basic.

    i will add my live stock to my tank this way.

    I have never dripped a fish, just let the bag float for a while then scoop them out and place in the tank. Never lost a fish that way.

    I rinsed the old sand in freshwater and put in the new tank. No issues. Only reason I'm not doing it this time is that I don't like the old sand...
