IMO sand just looks better in a reef tank. also like stated befor with CC gross stuff can get cought between the CC, pluss sand is more white then CC...

Yes for water changes and topping off and filling your tank you only wanna use good tested ro/di water.Never tap water.

i would deff recommend an ro/di unit. it will save you tons of money and leg work,
I agree they are very awesome..but i like my crabs as of yet, and i dont have any corals, so when i go to choose my corals a zoa may not be my first...
only 55g i can get away with not havin zoas in my tank, so many other corals out there.
