cant remember tank size, but my foxface is known to eat hair algae ( and some other types of algae). if your tank is big enough you could get one....
my lfs sells his LR $5dollars a pound.. and his base rock $2.50 dollars a pound.

did you try hand in tank? and hands right below light fixture? try sticking something inside the hole ( no pun intended) perhaps you can pop the...
