    I think it is cyano too, it wont run out of silicates in that case. Your tank is likely phosphate or iron limited, so working on controlling them...

    it depends on the species. with red algae you can almost guarantee they will do well that way, as long as they are not globular or cylindrical....

    will do, in the mean time super glue the top of their hole, that will take care of them. There is an underwater epoxy someone suggested that works...
