    Steven, I would not do more than 3 fish in your 29g tank to keep your NO3/PO4 in line. But if you do choose to go fishless, this is good advice,...

    lol. +1. While a limited number of fish is a great idea for a low bio-load, a small number of fish depending on the size of the tank would be OK...

    If someone does go this route, be sure to pre-drill the holes for screws so you don't split the pine. I also used a countersink bit so I could putty...

    It works the same as your standard Herbie overflow - two drains, one return line so it's quiet - except the actual overflow "box" is made of PVC pipe...

    Wire management coming late next week. I used rubber/foam matting for shelf liner that I cut to size. This is just extra stuff I had laying around....
