    This is correct. The life cycle is about 4 weeks. Some people wait an extra couple of weeks to make sure.

    I guess I should have said that in a different way.. higher temp won't "get rid of it", per se. If you have the fish in a quarantine for instance......

    Killing off live rock ?

    I soaked mine in bleach for a day or two .. then baking soda a day or two to neutralize.
