    What you really want is the water to run through it. A lot of times, systems are set up so that water, more or less, runs around it.

    Actually the rubble would do better than the media IMO. You could put it in a bag for easy lift out if needed. Can you run carbon at the same time?...

    Oh yeah....definitely. And a 125 on a 55g isn't really overskimming that much. A 125g tank with this skimmer would have to be lightly stocked....
