i think those + a small max 7 inch lion fish would make an awesome display! maybe a frogfish if you have heavy amounts of filtration on the tank!

they might nip at corals and clams if they don't have enough algae or prepared food to eat. they just want the zooxanthellae algae:D

blue clams are cool! they aren't a coral but it's like keeping sps but it sucks up more kalk in the water;D

what lights do you have? what are your parameters and where is it placed in the tank?
probably just acclimating but my sps and birdsnest coral i got from BAYMAC were open in an hour and are often out like that. Otherwise i don't know...

true but multiple sharks that would all get 4-5 feet over time with tons of reef fish does sound like a bit much to me:-/
smoothhounds are native to CA and are cool water like 60 degrees so mixing them with sharks from 80 degree water = not happening:(
