    tiny white spirals on the glass

    Spirorbid worms if they are a hard contiguous spiral. Snail eggs if they are small dots in a spiral. Harmless.

    Could be any number of red/purple macroalgae. Hard to tell from the pic but I would guess Dictyota.

    Some test kits are made for saltwater and may not work with fresh tap water. You may have gotten a false negative reading.
