    Cyano is actually a bacteria, not an algae. They would eat film algae etc., but not cyano that I know of. He may not have been getting the nutrition...

    If no dead CUC members, then I am guessing it has to do with you feeding the shrimp.... They require much less food than most of us think.

    I used this skimmer and loved it. It's not gonna skim like a $500 skimmer, but it works great and I had no complaints.
