Pay no mind to the air bubble; only the plunger.
Do you ensure to wipe clean (including finger prints) the cuvettes before testing? Did you tap them a few times to dislodge any air bubbles inside...
I hate to say, but I don't see any signs of life on that plate coral.
I've had the end of mine calcify up before. Worthwhile to unscrew it and check (with the water shut off, of course :)).
