    Is your tank a bowfront? How did you get the sump under the stand? Did you remove that center brace temporarily?

    You should be able to just snap one of the branches off with your hand. If not, if you can pull it out of the tank, a dremel tool works amazingly...

    Give it some time, usually in about a week the silt will settle down. If you can use filter socks, do it. They will help.

    Thanks everybody! It is a really open scape. All the way across the bottom is open, with like 4 caves, and the crazy thing is that it is super stable.
