    swing arms not only usually off the mark but they are inconsistent with the same batch of water which is even worse. good move getting a refract.

    RO/DI Water waste ?

    even the higher end ones i've see have a 1 to 1 ratio. for me i get 1 good gallon out of 4!! so yours sounds pretty good to me!

    Too Much Rock?

    indeed. lots of dead spots to wry about. would need a good closed loop system with piping all around the tank at the surface and the sand bed.

    nope. they do best at 1.023-6. maybe the were just responding to the added clean water... maybe time for a water change??

    i guess it depends on your tank dimensions on what is too much. my tank seems pretty full with ~150 lb of LR in a 110. in a more square tank 200 lb...
