It's not a bubbletip anemone, but it's pretty cool. A voracious eater, it has retractible whip-like tentacles (like a jellyfish) that grab its prey and pull it into its "mouth".
Thanks! You're right about the freezer space, though.
I found a site that had a cross-reference of anemone vs. clownfish. If I find it again, I'll post the link.
You said "integrating some of the best ideas in the hobby all into one massive plethora of aquatic goodness." What are some of those ideas?...
I like the idea of a picasso clown (after the maroon is removed). The Flame is also an OK idea since your tank is so big. I just got one two days...
I've never seen one that color. Mine was beige with a red racing stripe.
I got a 5-stage Compact Reefkeeper unit from AirWaterIce a 2 1/2 years ago. Changed the filters over a year ago and I'm still getting only 2ppm...
Fish heads, fish heads, rolly polly fish heads. Fish heads, fish heads, eat them up, Yum!
Gee, usually we don't let a post lie dormant for 4 hours! Enjoy your new tanks! I was out at the LFS today and got a beautiful Flame Angel for $50.
Postscript: My monster bristleworm is dead. I found his head floating around when I was changing the water. I'm going to guess that my new hermit...
The pH of your fresh, RO or RO/DI water doesn't matter. As Sostoudt implied, what matters is the pH of your mixed salt water. Check it before...
I guess I have to get a better pH indicator. I don't see the variation in pH that you are talking about. Anyway, I would hazard a guess that the...
It depends on the crab, and how big it is. I've never had a problem with any of my little hermits >1/2 inch. But, I recently bought a 2-inch...
+1 on what Cuttingras said. Do you see a lot of overfeeding in the tanks you visit? Do you have a rule of thumb about how much to feed your fish?
You mentioned all of these fish, but I want to point out that an anemone will probably be harder to keep than any of them. How much previous...
OMG. That was so bad.
It sounds pretty good to me. I have trouble keeping my pH at 8.2 -- it keeps slipping down to about 7.8 -- and my NO4 will steadily rise if I don't...
Wait a sec. You said "shiny white stuff"? Does it look slimey and wet? Do you notice it more at night? It may be a sponge.
Very nice, Wilber! I haven't taken the plunge (into having corals) yet.
