yea drill it, i just drilled 2 holes in my 120 with 1/2" glass and it was very easy.
dont feel to bad i just cracked a 120 gallon tank like that. this time i will hand tighten and then i will silicone the inside of the bulkhead.
yea make sure its not tempered or boooooommmmm. i drilled the bottom of one of my 10 gallon tanks with no problems at all.

yea but IMO all tanks are made of glass and a lot have plastic rims just like the marineland ones? i do think there overflow design is not the best...

yes it was perfectly level, the only thing i can think is i overtightend the bulk head fitting?
