I stained mine red mahogany. It deff makes the tank pop a lil more & still has a nice wood color to it.
The feather dusters probably won't get much larger than what they are now. At least not the type that grows on live rock.
I'm surprised you didn't sand the top down. You must be confident in matching the stain. But it looks really good. Nice job.
I had a 265 I really didn't like having to reach for the bottom. Luckily that's rarely happens. But they are sweet to look at & enjoy. Sorry to hear...
How is that shaded? Looks like you might have a board on tank to block light. That's a solid shade line. Lol
Glad to see things are gettin better. Awesome looking rbta & clowns.
Hmm, I see a pattern. Corals or nems don't like cleaner shrimp. That's a pricey dinner. Hopefully the coral explodes in growth.
I've seen this type of brackets on tanks that use pendant lighting. It really gives it a clean look. And keeps lights & brackets out of way for when...
Have some bracing attached to back of stand that comes up back of tank & above. Then have a horizontal bracket come over tank to mount light to.
That's just pure luck;)
You could also have detritus in your live rock crevices. Before you do water changes, use a turkey baster to blow junk out of the rocks. Then change...
I suppose for all the times shrimp keep stealing food from corals, it's time to pay up.
That's why I mentioned a simple overflow switch in sump and/or tank. Cause a controller is overkill for a fowlr. But a sensor on floor does shut down...
I have the reef breeders led & it's mounted top of canopy @10". Having them set a lil high helps give light a good spread. Mine has 90 optics.
There's also cheaper ways to keep tank or sump from over flowing with a cheap switch. Todd Sails can chime in on that one. He has threads for his set...
There is a few controllers on the market. The cheaper popular one is reef keepers & lil more pricey but better is an Apex controller. The price...
Might be a good time to consider a controller with tank overflow sensor & water on floor sensor. I'm guessing your hose came off of filter?
I can already see the next thread. "Help my tank is being over ran"
Hopefully you did water changes after you moved all the rock work around. As its been said already, a skimmer will deff help. Even a cheap skimmer...
That is a nice looking tank. Deff interested to see how this turns out.
