Check this document out. It was posted in a thread I started a while back on Apex, it is really good info....
I would not even try...too risky...the rock is too porus....and god knows if you will get it all out...and it only takes a little copper to jack up...
Check my math on this, but I would be worried about the salt reading. It says it reads accurately to 100ppm....but seawater is 34 parts per thousand...
I would use whatever is cheaper...and most importantly which piece looks best with your aqua scape. I used half dry rock and half aquacultured...
Okay cool. Thanks again
Was it hard to set up. I was looking at the document below and there is all kinds of info on setting up static ips, etc. did you have to do that?
Good point. Do you use the iPhone app for your apex?
cool thanks. Ultimately I would like to have full control via the APEX, but all these components really start to add up. So probably need to do it...
One more question if you have a moment...I am looking at connecting a vortec as well, and I see that requires yet another module (WXM I think)....
Awesome thanks!
okay thanks...all the documentation I have found is confusing! So I appreciate the input
Do you have the apex, or the apex lite? In looking at the Apex, I think it comes with the VDM module? Do you know if that is true?
Great thanks!
Thanks. Which cable do you need? Is it something extra I need to order?
Is anyone using an apex to control their AI SOLs. I am looking at putting in an apex and am curious about how this works. Any advice or suggestions...
Correct - you lose color in order of the color spectrum (ROYGBIV)in the ocean at depth...so you lose reds first..orange second ....yellow...
IMO...you need to have it checked and maintained frequently..or you need to take it down and restart when you get back. Remember these are living...
I have 2 on my 120G (48" tank) and it works and looks great. Standard optics, about 15 inchs above the tank.
I have a reef octopus, and I can at least tell you that what you are seeing is not what should be happening. Mine bubbles all the way up to the neck...
I used to run mine right at the bottom of the cup, and it did "okay". I hate to tell you, but for the couple of years I had mine, it was constant...
