i use there 150 skimmer and have for years and seems to pull out all kinds of dark gunk, but i here a lot of people do not like there skimmers? i do
have you tried brine shrimp? and i would net out the uneaten food.

i use a chepo pro clear 150 on my 72 bow, pull out dark crud steady.
i use a 55 gallon rain barrel that i swaped the metal hose bib with a pvc one and use a garbage bag where the screen was on top

it should be 1/4" lines and your sink should be 3/8" get a 3/8x3/8x1/4 T and put it in your cold water line
why not just a ato float, they are only 15 buks and mine works great.
no they should be the 1/4" push style fittings? they are super strong and hold really well im suprised it came off, maybe it was not pushed in all...

YOU CAN HAVE THE RETURN 12" from the overflow but point it away from the overflow, and you will need more power heads than just 1
