    I would ditch the foam and the rigged filter sock. You can burn out a pump pretty quickly if you restrict its intake. Where are the microbubbles...

    I wouldn't chance a maxima or a crocea any less than 12" away from PC lighting but thats just me. I agree with horkin, a maxima should do OK around...

    The problem with PC's is how the bulbs are configured. That big bend in them makes a lot of their light bounce off itself, and not into your tank....

    T5 are by far a better option, especially if they are combined with good reflectors. They throw more usable light into your tank with less wattage...
