I just tried with Fluval Sea Salt and it dissolved in less than 5 minutes, so maybe I'm just not having luck with Reef Crystals?
1. I would do 2 WP25's. Not too expensive compared to your other options and they come with controllers, so you can turn the flow down, if necessary....

That may be the problem. GSP tend to like "dirtier" water than SPS, so it just may not be getting enough nutrients.
