    Why 3 inches of sand? I wouldn't have more than 1- 1/4 inches. Anything more and you can run into problems with toxic spots in the sand bed.

    Make sure you raise the salinity SLOWLY. Do not go from 1.023 to 1.026 in one day as it will stress things out. I recommend raising salinity by .001...
